Pronounced: Avocado Jang

What: Avocado and Grape Tomatoes marinated in a soy sauce mixture. A banchan (side dish) to be eaten with other foods.

Taste: The buttery avocado and acidity of the grape tomatoes is marinated in a sweet yet savory soy sauce mixture. It has a very umami taste with a great texture that compliments a bowl of rice very well!

How It’s Made: Add all ingredients and submerge in soy sauce mixture. Let it marinate for 6-8 hours in the refrigerator.

What to Serve it With: Warm white rice, fried egg, kimchi, and roasted seaweed is our go-to. It tastes SO good with kimchi. But this is a side dish that will compliment many meals. Don’t limit yourself to our go-to and try it with some Korean dishes and other meals.

Notes & Tips:

  • You can also add in red onions and slices of lime! We keep it pretty simple though with just avocado and tomatoes.

  • As long as the ratio is intact, you can easily adjust the recipe to the serving size you want. For example, just want to use 1 avocado and a handful of grape tomatoes? No problem. Just make sure the entire avocado and tomatoes slices are submerged in the marinate.
