Korean Cafe Sandwich | 카페 샌드위치

What: Korean-style cafe sandwich that’s generously stacked to create a filling, flavorful sandwich.

Taste: This sandwich is particularly good because it uses Asian milk bread that’s lightly toasted in butter and sprinkled with sugar, which makes all the difference. Paired with high-quality meat, freshly shredded cheese, pickles, ketchup & mustard (trust the process), and more, this sandwich receives high praise from all— kids and adults.

How It’s Made: Lightly toast bread on a pan with butter. Sprinkle bread with sugar. Make sandwich. Tightly wrap in Saran wrap. Cut in half. Enjoy the beauty of sandwich. Enjoy.

Tip:

  • Asian milk bread is what makes this sandwich good. If you can, try to find this at your local Asian bakery. Otherwise, use plush white bread.

  • Add ketchup and mustard in the middle of the sandwich— do not apply on the bread. You don’t want soggy bread.

Prep time: 10 MinTotal time: 10 Min

Ingredients

No measurements necessary

Instructions

  1. Lightly toast the bread in a pan with a generous amount of melted butter. Do not over-toast. Sprinkle with sugar. Set aside on cooling wrack.
  2. Lay 2 feet of Saran wrap on the counter. Spread mayonnaise onto the first slice of bread and set in the middle of Saran wrap.
  3. Assemble the sandwich strategically, making sure to keep ingredients flat and leveled as much as possible. Be generous with your ingredients to make the sandwich tall: Spring Mix or Lettuce, Baby dill pickles, Roma Tomato, Avocado, Deli Meat, Ketchup*, Mustard*, Garlic powder, Onion Powder, Black Pepper, Shredded Cheese.
  4. Spread mayonnaise on second slice of bread and top off on your sandwich.
  5. Wrap tightly with saran wrap, making sure to secure all sides.
  6. With a bread knife, cut saran-wrapped sandwich in half to reveal a beautifully layered, filling sandwich. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

*Apply ketchup and mustard in the middle of the sandwich, e.g. on top of the meat slices, instead of the bread. This prevents soggy bread.
