Baked Korean Sweet Potato Fries (Guun Goguma) | 구운 고구마

Pronounced: Goo-Oon Goh-Goh-Mah
Baked Sweet Potatoes

What: Baked or air fried Korean Sweet Potato Fries with Cajun inspired seasoning.

Taste: It tastes similar to the American sweet potato fries you eat at a restaurant, but different because we are using Korean Sweet Potatoes. It is sweeter and less watery than the American orange sweet potato. It has a a subtle nutty flavor. I much prefer the Korean sweet potato!

It’s honestly tastes good by itself (that’s how a lot of Koreans eat it), but some extra seasoning never hurts if you’re in a mood for fries!

How It’s Made: Wash potato. Cut. Coat in oil and seasoning. Bake in air fryer or oven.

What to Serve it With:

  • It’s good as a snack by itself

  • I ate this for breakfast along with a fried egg and guacamole.

Notes & Tips

  • You can find Korean Sweet Potatoes at most Asian grocery stores (you can for sure find them at a Korean or Japanese grocery store).

  • You can also find Korean Sweet Potatoes at grocery markets like Sprouts (those weird, bougie grocery stores with diverse products).
